Why use a professional photographer?
.

You've carefully chosen the wedding gown, considering fit and style so that you will look and feel beautiful. The bridesmaids' dresses and the gentlemen's tuxes are given a lot of thought, along with decisions about the invitations, flowers, the menu and decor for the reception. Your wedding cake design is stunning. Of course, you make sure your DJ (or band) will play great music so that your guests have a good time.
Now it's time to choose a photographer...

There are a lot of people with cameras these days. And while planning the budget for your wedding, you might think a good way to cut corners is by letting a friend or family member photograph your wedding for you. If that friend or family member is a professional wedding photographer, great... as long as they (and you) are willing to have them work your wedding rather than join you as a guest. If they are not a professional, but someone who has a nice camera and 'usually gets great pictures' be aware: this is a recipe for disaster. If your wedding photos are at all important to you, the worst that can happen is that you end up with no photographs. Or, almost as bad, you have only 'snapshots' which won't do justice to your months and months of careful planning. You dream of your wedding day and plan every last detail...
Plan to keep the memories of a lifetime for a lifetime, by hiring a professional.

. As a wedding photographer with over twenty-five years of experience, I am familiar with the events which make up your wedding day, and will help things flow smoothly by working efficiently. I work very quickly, enabling you to truly enjoy your day. Except for the 'formal events' which may need some setting up, I generally work without interfering with you at all. Repeatedly, couples have been amazed when they've seen their photos, and told me 'I didn't even know you were there!' I consider that a wonderful compliment.
I use up-to-date high grade equipment, and carry backup equipment just in case something unforeseen happens. But, cameras are merely the tools I use; there's more to photographing weddings than having good equipment. My years of experience have taught me where to be and when... how to emphasize the beauty and grace of the wedding ceremony... and how to capture all the fun and sheer joy of celebration during your reception. .
When you hire a professional photographer, you don't have to worry about things... I've got you covered!
